More documents were taken and other painting were temporarily adopted through my project.
Some of the work is in NYC and others are in DC, New Haven and other parts. Most has not been returned and most "mothers" have not sent in names or developmental history.
Further work needs to be done to understand and resolve these situations for all parties.

Jodi Patterson's Art Adoption Blog
Case #21 has been adopted, 8/22/05 by Jodi Patterson, who lives in Michigan. She has now moved to West Virginia. I have never meet her, but she seems like she would be a "good enough mother." Personality before adoption: likes nature. Was born under a water sign. Curious and adaptive.
Father:unknown mail artist, possibly from the south. Interested in reptiles
Mother:Holly Crawford
Case Number 21
oil on canvas
A collaborative art project. Van Gogh shoved them under Theo's bed. Baldassari burnt them. Looking for a new relationship. Looking for a safe stable, loving home with a "good enough mother." Preference will be given to institutions and individuals regardless of race, creed or sexual preference. Art in this program may never be owned, and it is always evolving relationship. No abuse will be tolerated. Social Contract is required. Some art has been named. It was in foster care. Those works and others are looking for something more permanent. You must name the art and you adopt and provide me with photographs, and a narrative of its history. I need social interaction and it development. Identity. What is it? How does it develop? What is in a name? What is a relationship? How do I handle abuse?
History and Statement: During the Pool Art Fair in New York City in July 2005, many cases were adopted. One during the opening night by Peter Frank. Two cases are at the JStor under the care of Barbara Rockenback; one is at Helen Keller International in the care of Jennifer Klopp; Michael Liss adopted a small one for his office; S. David adopted one virtually and is writing a poem; Amanda Kadosh adopted a small one for her home. Jorn and Laura Holl commissioned an adoption. Jorn saw a stamp and asked if I would paint one from that stamp the engraving marks found in a German stamp from the 1920, when they were experiencing a hyper-inflation. The stamp is 100000 Mark stamp, now that was postage. I never received the poem.
These are conceptual paintings. I have painted a series of paintings using the found engraving marks the I have recovered from old postage stamps that belonged to my father and husband. Most of the stamps were cancelled. Who sent them? What was in the letters? I don't know. I paint only a fragment of the information in new colors. I then ask others to adopt and give then a name and a history. What is history? What is our relationship to art?
Cases looking for a new relationship. Looking for a "good enough mother." Please adopt me! Name me! Nuture me! Give me a history!
